The Mountain Hospital for Animals
A Veterinary Hospital for Companion & Exotic Animals
Your Local Clinic, With a Wide-Open Practice.
The Mountain Hospital for Animals has cared for the families and creatures of Lookout Mountain since 1989.
Our practice spans everything from the routine wellness visit to the unusual call — a parrot, a tortoise, a bearded dragon, and yes, on rare occasions, the wildlife of the Appalachian South.
We believe a small practice can be a serious one.
At The Mountain Hospital for Animals, animals always come first.

From Our Clientele
Rachel Conger Dr. Keller is such a kind man that genuinely cares about people and animals. He runs his buisiness with integrity and makes the right decisions. I appreciate everything he has done for my family (humans and furry companions) I appreciate all the hard working staff and would reccomend the Mountain Hospital to anyone! Jane Doe Amazing doctors/Techs 👏 Savanna S So happy to have the best vet! They are calm, considerate, and express genuine care for your pet. Super pleased with the services they’ve provided for my two dogs over the past 4 years. Dan Peterson Compassionate staff, reasonable prices. Highly recommend. Kim Onofrey I can't say enough good things about my experience with them. I live in Chattanooga and their office was the only one in the Chattanooga and Cleveland area that would see a chicken that actually responded to me. It's crazy that a regular avian vet doesn't want to see them because they consider them livestock. Then farm vets don't want to see them because they see the bigger farm animals. I had a 5 month old chicken that I found had a string tightly wound around her tongue for an unknown amount of time. It had cut off circulation to it and they ended up having to remove probably at least the front half of her tongue. We got in before our appointment time, which I had called first thing that morning to get in the same day, and out in less than an hour. Before bringing her in, she had been having trouble eating and drinking correctly, was underweight, and didn't do a lot of moving around, not having the extra energy to spare. Since the surgery, she is doing so well. It took her a little time to adjust to how to eat correctly but she is thriving now. I can tell she is putting on weight and eating her fill every day. She's happy and running around and I am so thankful to everyone who helped her to get better. Rachel Smith Matt is amazing! We don’t even live on the mountain anymore but drive there just to take our dogs for checkups. Gabrielle Edge Educated and rabbit savvy staff! We woke up to our bunny acting a bit off—he wasn’t eating and seemed like he couldn’t get comfortable. I called right when they opened and they got us on the schedule that same morning! With a GI stasis diagnosis suspicion, they did X-rays, an ultrasound, bloodwork, and gave Twix (bunny patient) pain meds, IV fluids and gut motility medicine. We’re not out of the woods yet, but he is showing improvement. Thank you so much, Mountain Hospital! We will definitely be back!
